National Center for HIV, STD, and TB Prevention, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

CDC's National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention maximizes public health and safety nationally and internationally through the elimination, prevention, and control of disease, disability, and death caused by HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STDs and TB. Center staff work in collaboration with governmental and nongovernmental partners at community, State, national, and international levels, applying well-integrated multidisciplinary programs of research, surveillance, technical assistance, and evaluation.

Office on Women's Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services

The Office on Women's Health (OWH), part of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), works to improve the health and sense of well-being of all U.S. women and girls. OWH serves as the focal point for women's health activities within HHS offices and agencies. OWH leads programs to improve women's health and collaborates across HHS and with other partners on women's health activities. OWH has a national office in Washington, DC. Ten Regional Women's Health Coordinators are located throughout the country to serve women and girls through local public health initiatives. The Office on Women's Health's (OWH) mission is to provide leadership to promote health equity for women and girls through sex/gender-specific approaches. OWH achieves its mission and vision by developing innovative programs, educating health professionals, and motivating behavior change in consumers through the dissemination of health information.

International Pelvic Pain Society

In 1995 a group of physicians met to discuss their common interest in treating one of the most difficult of clinical problems, chronic pelvic pain. From the beginning, gynecologist, urologist, psychologist and other health professionals have been committed to an interdisciplinary approach to the treatment of chronic pelvic pain. After two years, the International Pelvic Pain Society (IPPS) was incorporated to serve as a forum for professional and public education.

Planned Parenthood Federation of America

Planned Parenthood Federation of America is a voluntary family planning and reproductive health organization. This Federation of 128 organizations operates 875 family planning clinics that provide contraceptive services, gynecological services, infertility therapy, pregnancy testing and counseling, prenatal services, sexually transmitted disease diagnosis, abortions, and sterilization services. Educational efforts are directed at specific problems such as unwanted pregnancies among adolescents. Planned Parenthood sponsors research to develop safe and effective contraceptives and to better understand human reproduction.
